DISASTER RELIEF IN THE WAKE OF HURRICANE MARIA
From the UCC denominational website:
“Three and a half million Puerto Ricans are facing a devastating humanitarian crisis in the wake of Hurricane Maria. Flooding and mudslides have left millions without power, 40 percent without drinking water, and only 11 of the islands 69 hospitals in operation.
As we are reminded in Proverbs 31, we are called to speak up for the vulnerable. Act now to support hurricane relief for Puerto Rico.
The United Church of Christ is active in networks that meet immediate needs and focuses on long-term recovery that may well last 5+ years. You can walk with families in this holistic recovery effort through your generous contributions here.
100% of funds to the United Church of Christ designated for U.S. disaster relief are used for disaster relief and rehabilitation programming within the United States.”
More information can be found regarding on-going needs and efforts here.
